Pattern & Fabric

How maternity fit is built

A standard activewear pattern cannot simply be sized up for pregnancy. Maternity styles are re-graded so the belly area carries extra room and stretch while the leg, hip and under-bust stay supported. The waistband is the key piece: a high-rise, wide waistband with an expandable belly panel supports the bump through the second and third trimester without a tight elastic line pressing across the abdomen.

Fabric choice follows the same stretch and recovery discipline as the main collections: four-way stretch with reliable recovery, opaque coverage in leggings and shorts, and a soft hand feel against sensitive skin. Fabric composition and weight are confirmed per style at sampling, against your target market and price position — send a reference fabric or choose from the options in the activewear fabric guide.

Size grading follows your maternity size chart. Development samples follow the same S–XL convention as other VeyloraActive styles, extended with maternity grading confirmed at sample stage; see the size chart and fit guide for how size ranges are planned. Sample confirmation matters more for maternity than for standard styles, because belly fit cannot be judged from measurements alone.
